Shilka77780 :
I have gotten this SONY laptop and I tested today. I can tell I really like it! I like high speed of this computer, back-light of letters on a soft keyboard, great professional sound system (like you are in a theater). Nice colors and very sharp pictures. Advanced functions. Laptop is very light and thin. Easy to carry around. I work with graphic and It is enough for me to be on a go :-) I love It! I was scared to buy when I read previous reviews. I can tell now: I am satisfied and happy with this SONY E generation laptop! I recommend this computer!
FearThePenguin :
This is probably the best deal going from Sony on an E series laptop. The 14 inch 1600x900 screen is crisp and bright. The backlit keyboard is well executed and easy to type on. I love the matt paint job, and while the screen isn't mat it's at least low reflective. The headphones are ok, I prefer my AT M50s, but these will make good travel cans. Overall the machine is very snappy with the only real bottleneck being the mechanical harddrive. I replaced that with a 256GB Agility 4 a few hours after getting the machine though, so I don't really have much to complain about there. The only real downside is that you will spend a solid 2 or 3 hours downloading updates for all of the utilities and drivers installed. Sony does make it easy to do fortunately with a nice single application to do the heavy lifting, but it's still a lot of download time.
kitkat :
I liked this computer when I first bought it, but only after two months the hinge on the back snapped. Obviously poorly constructed. For this money, you would expect the computer to hold up. Sony refused to fix under the manufacturer's warranty. Save yourself the headache and buy something else.

Sony VAIO Fit Series SVF15214CXW 15.5-Inch Vouchers
Lolly:
Whoohoo! It didn’t take me long to zero-in on version of choice and order my new Sony VAIO laptop and protection plan of choice…A great gift for self or others. Gratefully, the seller accelerated delivery time, appeasing my anxious waiting. My VAIO is a space saver with pleasing cosmetic slim line appearance, lighted keyboard. It’s EZ to reprogram if needed, and has a high definition sound card along with numerous other user friendly features. Would I recommend others purchase a Sony laptop version of choice? Yes indeed! Why pay more than necessary for quality you deserve? I take care of my VAIO and it serves me well. Thanks for providing another wonderful product available for purchase online and special delivery which eliminated the run-around shopping in physical stores often presents. Offhand, I cannot think of anything I dislike about my new laptop. No regrets!
frank (Minneapolis, MN, United States) :
This, aesthetically, is a beautiful machine, but, after setting it up, began freezing regularly. A patch was recommended (I've never had a laptop where in day two it required a patch) and still the problem persist. I should have got the HP Envy after all, but was sold on this because it was newer. Also, when I purchased this it was advertised as having a touch screen. There are two models I now know. The Fit and the Fit E, which is the one I wanted.
If this machine didn't have that freeze problem, I'm certain I would be quite happy.

I've had this laptop less than two months. It has had terrible Wi-Fi connection since the beginning, which I read is quite common. Today, the laptop started turning off on it's own for no reason. When I try to turn it on again, it won't work for the first few tries. When it does work, it turns off after a minute or two of being on.

Daniel Vorona :
This is my first Sony Vaio laptop. I have owned a few laptops before, and I have to say I really like this one. First, the SSD drive allows the computer to boot up within 3 seconds, best feature of all. The size and weight of the laptop are perfect for traveling and carrying. It's true that it's not as thin as some of the other 'UltraBooks' out there, but this has a dvd-rom and you can expand the memory and replace the battery. So you do sacrifice a little bit, but it's worth it. The touch screen is a nice touch, and Sony gives you a ton of software to use that can be helpful for graphic art and media design.
Some things I'm not crazy about it, but can live with are:
-The battery is a little weak, but I don't travel that much so I'm not totally bothered by it.
-Some of the keys are a little oddly placed. Home, End, Page Down/Up
-No direct access volume button, except for in the function keys
Scott Schweiger :
Turns on and loads quickly. Windows 8 and the touchscreen take a little getting used to. Also, I went from 15.6 inch to 14 inch, so the keyboad took some getting used to as well. I didn't expect to miss the backlit keybord so much.
As far as performance, it the wireless network adapter is glitchy. At first it would work fine, then every hour or so it's drop my WLAN connection, and automatically reconnect after about 1 min. Annoying! Took me 2 weeks and about 10 fixes before I got it to stop dropping out for no reason.
Now that it's fixed, it works flawlessly though. No complaints.
Andrew K. McIntosh:
I am an engineering student and bought this computer for college next year. I have had positive experiences with Sony products in the past and was hoping for good results with this one. I should have heeded the two other reviews on here warning of wifi issues, because I had the same problem. Out of the box, the wifi worked for about an hour, then stopped working. I updated drivers to no avail, and even re-imaged the hard drive to try to fix this. No matter what I tried, the wifi would continue to drop out after a minute of connection. Perhaps if I spent another two weeks looking for a fix as another reviewer did I might have eventually found an answer. However, it's up to you whether you want to preserve your sanity looking for a solution. I have since returned this computer and am typing this from an ASUS S400ca DB51t, which is running without any hitches so far.
The fan is also quite loud, the sound is usable but not pleasant, and finding a proper viewing angle for the glossy screen is frustratingly fickle. If you are looking for a quality product that runs out of the box, look elsewhere.

Sony VAIO E15 Series SVE15126CXP 15.5-Inch Vouchers
George Farjeat (San Dimas, CA):
Well designed and nicely priced. The processor is nice and fast with the "turbo" feature makes this a great mid level laptop that works as fast as a expensive +$1000.00 laptop. I use it for making music and DJing and I have had NO CRASHES nor problems. I highly recommend this laptop. HDMI port; Three USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0; Start up is very fast! Dual core makes switching programs or working on two programs at once easy and fast. Doesn't heat up to my surprise, you could actually have it on your lap for long periods at a time and does not cause discomfort. The built in speakers are ok for personal use, do not expect it to blow the roof of or fill a living room. Back lit keyboard is nice and can be adjusted to turn off if not in use for "X" amount of time that you tell it to. Battery consumption is ABOUT RIGHT... The Win 8 OS is pretty cool once you get used to the "APP" style of working with the laptop... I recommend not to but the extended warr. with anyone other than SONY since they offer it cheaper and you know it will be good since it is direct... Anyways I recommend this laptop hands down... Thanks, I hope this helped... ~ DJ George Farjeat
Dwejizzang:
When I got this laptop, it was unbelievably awesome! First, I like the color. Instead of black, Sony had multiple colors laid out for customers to choose in their favor. Second, the resolution quality. When I watch movie, I feel like I don't need the blue ray since the quality of the screen is so great! This laptop is also quiet and super fast.
The keyboard is smooth.. I just cannot live without this laptop.
The only thing it needs to be fixed is probably the camera from Windows 8.
Anyway, I have no regret to choose this pink Sony laptop because it seems no different from Mac, and it is lot cheaper.
Miss A A Wilks :
Everything works well, I really needed a laptop and so far I'm pleased that it works for what I need it to do. Windows 8 however, hasn't really impressed me. I've found it confusing so its taken some practice to get use to. I have a feeling it won't be around for long, personally Windows XP it still my favourite. I don't really see the point of the tiles and think all that stuff could have just been on my desktop (guess they are trying to make the interface similar to a tablet.) I've not that tech savvy as I've only just invested in my first laptop. Wish it came with Microsoft pre-installed, as I use Word, Excel and Powerpoint a lot.

Sony VAIO Fit Series SVF14215CXB 14-Inch Core i5 Vouchers
Alejandro "Alejandro" (Illinois, USA):
THIS IS NOT THE VAIO FIT 14.
Perhaps due to some confusion on Amazon's end (or else deceptive practices) this product has been mislabeled as being the Vaio Fit 14-inch variant. This is actually the Vaio Fit E 14-inch variant. This E (basically for economy, or entry-level) means this is slightly fatter and made of matte plastic. This true Fit 14 laptop you'll find on Sony's website is a much more professional, thin aluminum-frame laptop. In truth, Sony should take some of the blame for naming two laptops made from totally different materials and components so similarly (Fit/Fit E) but I just wanted to warn anyone else before they purchase the incorrect laptop.
Reji Thomas :
The device is amazing. It is easy to use, very lightweight, and easy transition from Mac and PC Computers. It had easy set-up instructions and I could customize it as well. Overall, two thumbs up!!!!
J. Rejoso:
Got one for my daughter last July and still waiting for Sony's fix on the built-in wi-fi. Tested it in 3mbps Manila, in 100 mbps Tokyo and in 20 mbps Houston - and it just sucks everywhere! I am seriously contemplating on buying that $22 Intel WiFi Card and request Sony Service Center to replace that horrible Broadcom wi-fi chip, or perhaps I can pay a 3rd party computer shop to do it for me. Last resort, I can probably do the replacement myself with the proper tools.
I recently bought another new laptop (Toshiba) for myself and one of the main checklist items is the built-in wifi card. Thankfully, it has an Intel card and it's simply amazing! When I saw a young lady checking a Fit 14 unit intently in a major consumer electronics store, I warned her immediately about the wi-fi issue. Of all laptop functions that may not work well, this is totally unacceptable!
Perhaps one of the most stupid opinions I heard about this issue is from a Sony Store staff who said that the wi-fi issue is probably attributable to the low-power CPUs of the newer models (but then I have already tried disabling all power saving settings of the Fit 14 and the wi-fi card itself). And he further explained that he wasn't surprised at all that a 3-year old Vaio (my daughter's older laptop) running on i3 is faster than current gen Vaio i5s or i7s in terms of wi-fi. What???
Could have been 5 stars if not for this serious defect. Looks so sleek!

Sony VAIO T Series SVT15117CXS 15.5-Inch Core i7 Vouchers
Joseph C. Klope Jr. "Chet" (Hillsdale, NJ USA) :
Purchased for an employee. She is loving it so far. The touch screen seems like a little bit of a gimmick, but she reports that she uses it all the time (Windows 8 feature). Pretty loaded machine and it is highly possible I will buy another for myself in the near future.
Nilo Esparza (Florida, USA):
quite a long time without notice from windows, then i brainwashed my girl friend to buy a new one. she decided vaio, she loves it.
CT "CT" (California) :
Pros: Boots up quick, backlit keyboard, good sound out of the speakers, touch screen, HDMI out, Can charge devices via USB when off.
Cons: Hardware conflicts and issues in device manager (network) after Vaio update, Sony website hard to navigate to find a fix, graphics could be better when using Video Chat, Battery runs out fast.
Recommendation: Not a bad computer, but wish I would have replaced my old Mac with a new Mac, but figured I'd give a PC one more shot.

LOVE the size of the screen for watching videos and gaming....LOVE IT!!! The ease of operating around the new laptop is awesome!
Ayuzo:
Love it. It fulfilled everything I needed it for. Most especially for school because that was my main concern when I was ordering the laptop. Any other thing was just an addition.
W. MATTUS "BilZan" (Little Rock, AR USA):
I love everything about this computer. The true HD display, the Blu-Ray player, the backlit keyboard, 1TB Hard Drive, 8 GB RAM, and the sleek design. I cant say enough good things about this computer. It's solid, well-put-together, and runs like a champ. Have not had any problems with it. Highly recommended

Liming wu:
had this less than one week.
The setup was easy. This ultrabook got a sleek looking, light and good battery time make it more portable, sound is also good. from xp and mac user, Windows 8 is not that bad, got used to it already The system is compatible with old version software like photoshop and office which I can still install on this one.
however i found the touchpad is sometimes too sensitive, got some unwanted action too many times, need to get a mouse and disable the touchpad. The touchscreen is also not so good to use, since when touch it, the whole screen will vibrate, making the feel no good. Also the Web cam is really bad.
Maria Elena Castro :
Endesa up returning the laptop. Too slow, IE hung constantly. The new metro interface was cludgy. I had to reinstall skype.
Davika Bissessar:
A really nice laptop, my first ever laptop.
Windows 8 isn't that bad with a touch screen
Really turned out what I had expected, just brilliant

Sony VAIO Duo SVD13215PXB 13.3-Inch Convertible 2-in-1 Vouchers
voraphat (IL, USA) :
I looking for great laptop and good for tablet. This machine is amazing fast and great responsive in many ways. It can be one of my favorite gadget if it does not have serious Wifi connection problem. I use Apple Time capsule (old version) as my router to internet. Normally, I use my computer, tablet far from it around 15-20 feet, nothing go wrong. All my machine work and run internet extremely fast and never have disconnected problem.
My new Sony Duo 13 is show only 2 bars for Wifi connection (all other devices show 5 full bars) but on top of that they running all download super slow and disconnected from my router occasionally. I have to move my Duo very close to my router, the result is super fast as 10 times as 15 feet away. I try to update all the driver and patch of window 8 by lay it down next to each other.
The result is the same. I have to returned it to AMAZON. sorry.
Le :
Avoid it. I brought the same model from Sony online store and returned it at the same week. The Wi-Fi constantly dropped on this model and the signal was very weak. (The Vaio duo 13 had only 1- 2 bars signals where my Vaio T had 4 bars, and my Toshiba had 5 bars) I even took it to the local Sony store and installed the Wi-Fi patch. The problem was still there.
aviterra (New York):
It s a tablet and PC in one package. Great screen, battery and performance. Couldn't ask for any more in a computer for business travel.

Jocelyn :
I was a bit unsure when I went to buy this computer, but now that I have it, I love it. Many of the complaints that I had read about, I googled them and found a solution for most of it and I'm really happy with this purchase. The touchscreen is awesome and I love Windows 8, yes it's confusing at first but along with the computer comes a little Windows 8 tutorial that shows you the basics. The backlit keyboard is not as bad as people say, its really helpful actualy. Also, you can fix the sensitivity of the trackpad so its not jumping all around & when people say that the right side of their trackpad doesn't work, its because that's your right clicker (the one that brings up the drop down menu)so you just have to get used to clicking on the left side when you want to select something, and if you can't get used to that, then just tap it, the touchscreen is great. I haven't had problems with my wifi, it's actually been working great. I'm super happy with my purchase, and if you have any questions about anything, you cant go wrong by googling it, or if you're thinking about buying it and haven't yet, comment on this post & ask whatever you're debating about so maybe I can help clarify.
p.s DataVision is a great company, the delivery got here sooner than expected. ALSO! I thought this was the aluminum model, but I'm really happy with the plastic model, it looks very sleek.
I would definitely recommend this Laptop to a friend.
Holt:
When I first received this computer I was fairly impressed with it. It is a very sleek computer with a modern design. It runs great and the touchscreen is very nice, but I would not recommend this laptop until the WIFI issue has been fixed.
The laptop has the worst wifi range of any device I own. My kindle fire has a longer range than the vaio 14 laptop. If im outside of 15-20ft of my router the laptop has 1-2 bars of connection in the same place where my older computer has full connection. This is outrageous for such a new computer. Unless you plan on leaving the Ethernet cable plugged in at all times DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP
Antonio :
Got it right. But I think the mouse pad is bad. And I don't have how to fix it in Brazil

p.s DataVision is a great company, the delivery got here sooner than expected.
And I don't have how to fix it in Brazil

keith :
After you uninstall the bloatware and stop a few startup programs in msconfig the laptop is perfect for everyday use. The screen is amazing and the touchscreen is very responsive.
leon:
great screen, nice slim design, i had a glass of water beside my vaio and my cat knocked it over... the water went all over the keyboard. i immediately turned it off and used dry tissue to soak up what i could. i let it sit upside down for 2 hours and water was still slowly dripping out of the keys, and it still works like new! I LOVE IT!!!
LISA L THOMPSON (CHICOPEE, MA, US):
Like the features of the laptop (this is my first) but the battery life really sucks only seem to get a couple of hours on it. Not a good choice if you travel a lot and depend on the battery lasting for you flight

If you are after a stylish and fast laptop look no further. This is truly an exceptional Sony product. Also the Windows 8 operating system works brilliantly with the touch screen.

It was the one which I really want to choose. The price is nice and the computer is useful. I like it.
SW VA "Rufus" (VA USA):
I bought this for my daughter for her college work. It works beautifully! She has room to store her work, and her online connections work very well.

Jordan Wassenaar :
I love this laptop! I have only had it for a couple months but from what I can tell it is a great laptop. I'm using in for college and it is the perfect size. Exactly what I wanted.
R. H.:
I have gone through hell with the T-Series. After writing an initial positive review the computer started to freeze every 2 hours or so. The only way of fixing it was to do a hard shut down. I sent it to Sony THREE times, leaving me without a computer for over a month. Each time I'd receive the computer, turn it on, and 2 hours later... freeze. Gahh!!!
Finally, they upgraded me to a refurbished (it should have been new, not refurbished) T series but with higher specs. While it is a full keyboard, the keys are very shallow. I'm a transcriber -- unfortunately, the keys are less than ideal.
msa117:
I like this laptop a lot. It is cute, bit heavy (almost 5lbs) yet the battery life is amazing. I am a college student and have a load of classes. My laptop never died on me so far, unless I didn't charge it, and its sturdy! Only complaint is that the click touch pad (the flat build in mouse) tends to not respond to "right-click" functions. For example, when you right-click to copy, open new tab, or to see the options, it does not always respond or it does a one-click on a link when you wanted to load it in a different tab. Gets frustrating when I am trying to correct a paper, open a new link in a new tab, or searching something. This is why I gave it a 4 out 5 star. But, over all I do like it, it does not over heat quickly like my other 4 HP laptops. Good Performance!

Sony Vaio PCG-71913L Laptop LCD Screen Replacement 15.6" WXGA HD LED Vouchers
fluke lover :
easy to install looks genuine ...after installed it the picture looks extremely bright and shiny look at the video on you tube to install it easily
FLConsumer :
This LED Vaio screen panel is exact factory match for Sony Vaio PCG-71913L . Came well protected in perfect condition. Cost is very reasonable, delivery prompt with a tracking number. I did the whole exchange myself. If you type "Sony Vaio PCG-71913L screen replacement" on YouTube you will find a step by step video with tech Brian explaining and showing what to do next. I am not a technitian and it took me about 45 minutes for full panel replacement. The worst part is reconnecting the video LED cable to the panel, it took me several tries, but then Vaio rebooted at first time.
Finally no infuriating me yellow vertical strap !!!! Screen like new :-) If you take it to the shop, it will cost you $100 in labor plus the cost of the panel. You can save yourself $100 this way.
K. Hernandez "huggigirl" (Wisconsin):'
We got this screen to replace a cracked screen on my laptop. It fit perfectly and works great! My husband isn't a computer genius but was able to watch Youtube videos and installed it himself!

This is a great ultrabook. It's fast for non-gaming tasks. I haven't tried games, but I have my doubts. HD streaming and having many apps open still doesn't slow this thing down.
The 4GB ram is barely enough for the laptop, however. You NEED to upgrade to 8GB before you can treat it like a normal laptop which means opening everything you can think of, multitasking, etc.
The touchscreen works great with Windows 8.
Please do yourself a favor and uninstall the builtin Sony branded apps... They just slow the computer down and eat up memory.
empressquid:
I just purchased the touchscreen version of this bad boy and I couldn't be more pleased. Very lightweight but doesn't over heat, sleek design and the power it packs is perfect for someone like me who uses it for basic, everyday use. The speakers pack a punch and windows 8 take a quick review to really use it to it's full potential. The screen can be a little sensitive so I end up bringing up things I didn't intend to when I actually use my fingers to navigate the touch screen, but I chalk that up to operator error. So far, very happy with my purchase.
FRANCIS C. LAPLANTE Jr. "Synapse" (Waterbury, CT USA):
Windows 8 is not as intuitive to get used to after years on Windows XP and Windows 7.
But the touch screen feature is a really great feature for the kids and makes it easier for them.
I like the larger screen compared to the previous netbook, and one of the best features is the lower key profile that prevents (so far) our 2 year old from ripping the keys off the keyboard.
Starts up fast.
Long battery life.
Restarts fast.
Good screen resolution.
Touch screen works great.
Update 2012-12-26
The kids can be rough. The laptop survived a full 4 foot fall to hardwood floor with a single tiny dent on the aluminum interior where the cover contacted to protect the touch screen. Very happy with the durability.

Ross:
I really like this machine. I was in the market for a new laptop for some time an decided a touchscreen would best serve my purpose. I'm an artist so working with the touch is a dream come true.
I wasn't sure about windows 8 when it came out but after playing with it for a while decided it was in fact a good OS. Just different. I can see where it isn't optimal for a business but it suites my needs.
But don't let windows 8 turn you away from a good quality computer. There is a program that will allow you to use Windows 8 like Windows 7, Vista, XP, or even 98! And it's free to boot! Just look up in any search engine Classic Shell and you'll find it. Classicshell.net.
mike :
This is a nice compact size lightning fast laptop, works great with decent configurations. The laptop has excellent screen resolution, lighted keys to work at night in reduced lighting. Best buy ever.
KS :
I am writing to you from my Sony Vaio which I will be returning tomorrow. After less than three months of careful usage, the hard disk is failing and causing issues. The mouse is too sensitive and frustrating to use, the screen produces a lot of glare, the finish attracts an insane amount of fingerprints. Up until the hard drive failed I was fairly satisfied but a hard drive failure on a $700.00 laptop? There are no excuses for that.

Reji Thomas:
The device is amazing. It is easy to use, very lightweight, and easy transition from Mac and PC Computers. It had easy set-up instructions and I could customize it as well. Overall, two thumbs up!!!!
GA :
I had to give it one star in order to post this but it deserves a zero. I bought this at bestbuy and it does have Wi-Fi defect. I have installed every driver known to man including the new ones recommended by Sony. it will not stay connected to the internet. You have to restart the PC to get a reconnection. It is a piece of junk: Buyers beware.

The Sony Vaio E series is totally awesome, from Windows 8 to the back lit keyboard. The 1080 1920 resolution can utilize DVD and Blue Ray alike. Would reccomend it to anyone looking for a reliable laptop with many features.

I bought this vaio brand last year and after 4 mths, I got the fan noise problem. It is really heavy noise that it irritates me alot. I am a computer science student who chose Vaio over Mac and I have alot of Sony products with me. But this one is a disaster. I even took the laptop to a Sony tech to have the fan changed, but it did not solve the noise and overheating problem. very disappointing.
Cynthia A. Mederos (Lake Worth, Florida USA):
When I got the first one, there was a problem with the dvd drive. (Not loading programs, returned). Got the second one and there was a problem with the Battery/charger.. It was plugged in but the battery status said plugged, not charging. The percentage was at 50% and not going up.) decided had enough and returned to Amazon for refund. The laptop has nice qualities but the hardware issues were dissapointing.

LOVE the size of the screen for watching videos and gaming....LOVE IT!!! The ease of operating around the new laptop is awesome!

I cant say enough good things about this computer. It's solid, well-put-together, and runs like a champ. Have not had any problems with it. Highly recommended.

Liming wu :
had this less than one week.
Maria Elena Castro:
Endesa up returning the laptop. Too slow, IE hung constantly. The new metro interface was cludgy. I had to reinstall skype.
Davika Bissessar:
A really nice laptop, my first ever laptop.
Windows 8 isn't that bad with a touch screen
Really turned out what I had expected, just brilliant

Ed from the snow belt:
I debated spending close to $500 when there are so many laptops in the $400 range, but am glad I did. It was pretty easy to set up and the HDMI port is great for showing the internet on my TV. It is much lighter than my previous laptop. Note to those of you with email that uses a POP server -- Windows 8 email app does not support POP servers. But I found Mozilla Thunderbird and it is working out fine. The interface is similar to Microsoft Outlook.
madelyn hernandez:
I love this laptop. It is so beautiful and works perfectly. It also arrived super fast. I love the brightness of the screen and the light on the keyboard.
Jaime Lopes :
I am a student and this laptop is light, portable and fits into my tote without making it heavy. I love this laptop and will def buy another.

Rose Norman (Huntsville, Alabama) :
I picked the Sony VAIO because it ranked in the top 5 of laptops of its kind, along with the Dell XPS, which is the one I thought I wanted, but couldn't afford. The VAIO actually ranked second (after the Mac). I don't remember who did the rating--I looked at lots of ratings, and decided this one was the one to go with. I was switching from a 10-year-old desktop, which finally died. I have a Dell Inspiron (2008, running Vista), and thought I wanted another Dell, because it would make an easier changeover, and it would have to be replaced eventually. A friend said the Dell XPS was much better hardware than the Inspiron, but I wasn't ready to spend $1400+ on a new laptop. So I was glad to get the VAIO for about $1000 (with no interest for 6 months on an Amazon store card).
The screen resolution is great, and it boots up very fast. It has enough USB ports (many laptops only have one or two, this has four, and I need all of them). In other ways, I've had to work around things. The keyboard initially gave me problems because of some key locations, and because, even though backlit, it was hard to read the letters (I'm not sure why). Now I have it hooked to my old keyboard (that's one USB port, the mouse is another, an external drive is a third, and a memory stick is the fourth). Windows 8 gave me trouble for awhile, but I finally figured out how to work around it (just click on the app that takes you to file explorer and forget about it). I can't say about battery life, since I usually plug it in to use it.
I've had it a month, and have had no problems, so I guess that's a good grade. I love having the touchscreen, even though I rarely use it.

Mario Fernandez Ulloa (MIAMI, FLORIDA USA):
The velocity of the WiFi is an issue. My five years Toshiba Satellite works better. It seems that above 100 ft. the signal is lost. I read similar complaints and chat support doesn't help. You can read other complaints in this site: http://community.sony.com/t5/VAIO-Hardware-Networking/VAIO-Fit-slow-wifi/td-p/143697.
UP TO DATE NEWS!! I took my Vaio to the Sony Store at Escazu Costa Rica. After the technician installed some drivers the laptop kept worked bad. They gave me other Laptop and it has been working pretty well with signal strenght. I am grateful that I didn t buy the laptop by internet!!
derick doors :
User friendly model, and works just fine with all softwares. It a little slow with autocad 2014 especially on the block editing, All else its liveable especially with windows 8
wd0 :
I give it 5 stars because is the best laptop for the money I found.
I made a couple of changes to make it better. First I start by doing a clean install of windows 7. I couldn't stand windows 8 plus all the trash that manufactures install. On Sony website you will find the drivers needed for windows 7.
And the next change was the hard drive. the laptop comes with a 5400rpm, so I bought a 7200 hard drive 750 GB for 70 dollars so I think is worth it. I was planning to go with a SSD hard drive but is kind of expensive and not that much memory space. May be that will be my next upgrade if they go lower on prices for a 512GB
This laptop now runs great as I want it.
Love the backlight keyboard. doesn't bother me if the room is dark or not. the backlight is always on.
I was planning to buy an ultrabook, but for the money and all the ports + cd/dvd rom, I think the sony is a no brainer.
May be that will be my next upgrade if they go lower on prices for a 512GB

yea i am a geek but the design aspects of this little guy are really different. the mouse moves in a odd way not like standard but the keys and so quiet and smooth. looks are very sleek.
Anthony J. Siegmann :
This computer fits the bill as lighter and has more capacity that my current 15 inch Dell.
I needed more memory and faster speeds for picture storage while traveling.
Not too enthralled with the Windows 8 version, but need to get familiar with it.
Carol J. Maggipinto "CarolM" (NJ):
My favorite feature is the back lighted keys - makes them very easy to see. Good for people who don't touch type. Could be a little lighter in weight, but great screen and very fast startup.
