Sony VAIO E Series SVE14A1HFXBC 14-Inch Vouchers

Shilka77780 :
I have gotten this SONY laptop and I tested today. I can tell I really like it! I like high speed of this computer, back-light of letters on a soft keyboard, great professional sound system (like you are in a theater). Nice colors and very sharp pictures. Advanced functions. Laptop is very light and thin. Easy to carry around. I work with graphic and It is enough for me to be on a go :-) I love It! I was scared to buy when I read previous reviews. I can tell now: I am satisfied and happy with this SONY E generation laptop! I recommend this computer!

 FearThePenguin :
This is probably the best deal going from Sony on an E series laptop. The 14 inch 1600x900 screen is crisp and bright. The backlit keyboard is well executed and easy to type on. I love the matt paint job, and while the screen isn't mat it's at least low reflective. The headphones are ok, I prefer my AT M50s, but these will make good travel cans. Overall the machine is very snappy with the only real bottleneck being the mechanical harddrive. I replaced that with a 256GB Agility 4 a few hours after getting the machine though, so I don't really have much to complain about there. The only real downside is that you will spend a solid 2 or 3 hours downloading updates for all of the utilities and drivers installed. Sony does make it easy to do fortunately with a nice single application to do the heavy lifting, but it's still a lot of download time.

I liked this computer when I first bought it, but only after two months the hinge on the back snapped. Obviously poorly constructed. For this money, you would expect the computer to hold up. Sony refused to fix under the manufacturer's warranty. Save yourself the headache and buy something else.

Lolly:
Whoohoo! It didn’t take me long to zero-in on version of choice and order my new Sony VAIO laptop and protection plan of choice…A great gift for self or others. Gratefully, the seller accelerated delivery time, appeasing my anxious waiting. My VAIO is a space saver with pleasing cosmetic slim line appearance, lighted keyboard. It’s EZ to reprogram if needed, and has a high definition sound card along with numerous other user friendly features. Would I recommend others purchase a Sony laptop version of choice? Yes indeed! Why pay more than necessary for quality you deserve? I take care of my VAIO and it serves me well. Thanks for providing another wonderful product available for purchase online and special delivery which eliminated the run-around shopping in physical stores often presents. Offhand, I cannot think of anything I dislike about my new laptop. No regrets!

frank (Minneapolis, MN, United States) :
This, aesthetically, is a beautiful machine, but, after setting it up, began freezing regularly. A patch was recommended (I've never had a laptop where in day two it required a patch) and still the problem persist. I should have got the HP Envy after all, but was sold on this because it was newer. Also, when I purchased this it was advertised as having a touch screen. There are two models I now know. The Fit and the Fit E, which is the one I wanted.

If this machine didn't have that freeze problem, I'm certain I would be quite happy.

I've had this laptop less than two months. It has had terrible Wi-Fi connection since the beginning, which I read is quite common. Today, the laptop started turning off on it's own for no reason. When I try to turn it on again, it won't work for the first few tries. When it does work, it turns off after a minute or two of being on.

Sony VAIO T Series SVT13137CXS 13.3-Inch Vouchers

 Daniel Vorona :
This is my first Sony Vaio laptop. I have owned a few laptops before, and I have to say I really like this one. First, the SSD drive allows the computer to boot up within 3 seconds, best feature of all. The size and weight of the laptop are perfect for traveling and carrying. It's true that it's not as thin as some of the other 'UltraBooks' out there, but this has a dvd-rom and you can expand the memory and replace the battery. So you do sacrifice a little bit, but it's worth it. The touch screen is a nice touch, and Sony gives you a ton of software to use that can be helpful for graphic art and media design.

Some things I'm not crazy about it, but can live with are:
-The battery is a little weak, but I don't travel that much so I'm not totally bothered by it.
-Some of the keys are a little oddly placed. Home, End, Page Down/Up
-No direct access volume button, except for in the function keys

Scott Schweiger :
Turns on and loads quickly. Windows 8 and the touchscreen take a little getting used to. Also, I went from 15.6 inch to 14 inch, so the keyboad took some getting used to as well. I didn't expect to miss the backlit keybord so much.

As far as performance, it the wireless network adapter is glitchy. At first it would work fine, then every hour or so it's drop my WLAN connection, and automatically reconnect after about 1 min. Annoying! Took me 2 weeks and about 10 fixes before I got it to stop dropping out for no reason.

Now that it's fixed, it works flawlessly though. No complaints.

Andrew K. McIntosh:
I am an engineering student and bought this computer for college next year. I have had positive experiences with Sony products in the past and was hoping for good results with this one. I should have heeded the two other reviews on here warning of wifi issues, because I had the same problem. Out of the box, the wifi worked for about an hour, then stopped working. I updated drivers to no avail, and even re-imaged the hard drive to try to fix this. No matter what I tried, the wifi would continue to drop out after a minute of connection. Perhaps if I spent another two weeks looking for a fix as another reviewer did I might have eventually found an answer. However, it's up to you whether you want to preserve your sanity looking for a solution. I have since returned this computer and am typing this from an ASUS S400ca DB51t, which is running without any hitches so far.

The fan is also quite loud, the sound is usable but not pleasant, and finding a proper viewing angle for the glossy screen is frustratingly fickle. If you are looking for a quality product that runs out of the box, look elsewhere.

Sony VAIO E15 Series SVE15126CXP 15.5-Inch Vouchers

George Farjeat (San Dimas, CA):
Well designed and nicely priced. The processor is nice and fast with the "turbo" feature makes this a great mid level laptop that works as fast as a expensive +$1000.00 laptop. I use it for making music and DJing and I have had NO CRASHES nor problems. I highly recommend this laptop. HDMI port; Three USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0; Start up is very fast! Dual core makes switching programs or working on two programs at once easy and fast. Doesn't heat up to my surprise, you could actually have it on your lap for long periods at a time and does not cause discomfort. The built in speakers are ok for personal use, do not expect it to blow the roof of or fill a living room. Back lit keyboard is nice and can be adjusted to turn off if not in use for "X" amount of time that you tell it to. Battery consumption is ABOUT RIGHT... The Win 8 OS is pretty cool once you get used to the "APP" style of working with the laptop... I recommend not to but the extended warr. with anyone other than SONY since they offer it cheaper and you know it will be good since it is direct... Anyways I recommend this laptop hands down... Thanks, I hope this helped... ~ DJ George Farjeat

 Dwejizzang:
When I got this laptop, it was unbelievably awesome! First, I like the color. Instead of black, Sony had multiple colors laid out for customers to choose in their favor. Second, the resolution quality. When I watch movie, I feel like I don't need the blue ray since the quality of the screen is so great! This laptop is also quiet and super fast.
The keyboard is smooth.. I just cannot live without this laptop.
The only thing it needs to be fixed is probably the camera from Windows 8.
Anyway, I have no regret to choose this pink Sony laptop because it seems no different from Mac, and it is lot cheaper.

 Miss A A Wilks :
Everything works well, I really needed a laptop and so far I'm pleased that it works for what I need it to do. Windows 8 however, hasn't really impressed me. I've found it confusing so its taken some practice to get use to. I have a feeling it won't be around for long, personally Windows XP it still my favourite. I don't really see the point of the tiles and think all that stuff could have just been on my desktop (guess they are trying to make the interface similar to a tablet.) I've not that tech savvy as I've only just invested in my first laptop. Wish it came with Microsoft pre-installed, as I use Word, Excel and Powerpoint a lot.

Sony VAIO Fit Series SVF14215CXB 14-Inch Core i5 Vouchers

Alejandro "Alejandro" (Illinois, USA):
THIS IS NOT THE VAIO FIT 14.
Perhaps due to some confusion on Amazon's end (or else deceptive practices) this product has been mislabeled as being the Vaio Fit 14-inch variant. This is actually the Vaio Fit E 14-inch variant. This E (basically for economy, or entry-level) means this is slightly fatter and made of matte plastic. This true Fit 14 laptop you'll find on Sony's website is a much more professional, thin aluminum-frame laptop. In truth, Sony should take some of the blame for naming two laptops made from totally different materials and components so similarly (Fit/Fit E) but I just wanted to warn anyone else before they purchase the incorrect laptop.

Reji Thomas :
The device is amazing. It is easy to use, very lightweight, and easy transition from Mac and PC Computers. It had easy set-up instructions and I could customize it as well. Overall, two thumbs up!!!!

J. Rejoso:
Got one for my daughter last July and still waiting for Sony's fix on the built-in wi-fi. Tested it in 3mbps Manila, in 100 mbps Tokyo and in 20 mbps Houston - and it just sucks everywhere! I am seriously contemplating on buying that $22 Intel WiFi Card and request Sony Service Center to replace that horrible Broadcom wi-fi chip, or perhaps I can pay a 3rd party computer shop to do it for me. Last resort, I can probably do the replacement myself with the proper tools.

I recently bought another new laptop (Toshiba) for myself and one of the main checklist items is the built-in wifi card. Thankfully, it has an Intel card and it's simply amazing! When I saw a young lady checking a Fit 14 unit intently in a major consumer electronics store, I warned her immediately about the wi-fi issue. Of all laptop functions that may not work well, this is totally unacceptable!

Perhaps one of the most stupid opinions I heard about this issue is from a Sony Store staff who said that the wi-fi issue is probably attributable to the low-power CPUs of the newer models (but then I have already tried disabling all power saving settings of the Fit 14 and the wi-fi card itself). And he further explained that he wasn't surprised at all that a 3-year old Vaio (my daughter's older laptop) running on i3 is faster than current gen Vaio i5s or i7s in terms of wi-fi. What???

Could have been 5 stars if not for this serious defect. Looks so sleek!

Sony VAIO T Series SVT15117CXS 15.5-Inch Core i7 Vouchers

Joseph C. Klope Jr. "Chet" (Hillsdale, NJ USA) :
Purchased for an employee. She is loving it so far. The touch screen seems like a little bit of a gimmick, but she reports that she uses it all the time (Windows 8 feature). Pretty loaded machine and it is highly possible I will buy another for myself in the near future.

Nilo Esparza (Florida, USA):
quite a long time without notice from windows, then i brainwashed my girl friend to buy a new one. she decided vaio, she loves it.

 CT "CT" (California) :
Pros: Boots up quick, backlit keyboard, good sound out of the speakers, touch screen, HDMI out, Can charge devices via USB when off.

Cons: Hardware conflicts and issues in device manager (network) after Vaio update, Sony website hard to navigate to find a fix, graphics could be better when using Video Chat, Battery runs out fast.

Recommendation: Not a bad computer, but wish I would have replaced my old Mac with a new Mac, but figured I'd give a PC one more shot.

Sony VAIO E Series SVE17137CXB 17.3-Inch Vouchers

Denise:
LOVE the size of the screen for watching videos and gaming....LOVE IT!!! The ease of operating around the new laptop is awesome!

Ayuzo:
Love it. It fulfilled everything I needed it for. Most especially for school because that was my main concern when I was ordering the laptop. Any other thing was just an addition.

W. MATTUS "BilZan" (Little Rock, AR USA):
I love everything about this computer. The true HD display, the Blu-Ray player, the backlit keyboard, 1TB Hard Drive, 8 GB RAM, and the sleek design. I cant say enough good things about this computer. It's solid, well-put-together, and runs like a champ. Have not had any problems with it. Highly recommended
